"This tender loaf of ground ham and
pork, glazed in this tangy sweet and sour sauce will
make you want to ham it up on any occasion. I suggest
you roll the mixture into one inch bite size hors
d'oeuvres, and freeze them for after work or school
snacks."
Chef Ruth Ellen's Ham Loaf
1 pound ground ham
1 pound ground pork
2 cups bread crumbs
2 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1 tsp. Dry mustard
2 Tbsp. Finely minced onion (optional)
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Transfer
the ham loaf into 2 small 3x7" loaf pans. Pour 1
cup of the ham glaze over the top, cover and bake at 350
degrees for 45 minutes. Remove the cover, add more sauce
and bake an additional 15 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes
before slicing.
Ham Glaze
1 cup vinegar
1 cup water
1 cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp. Brown mustard
Combine all ingredients in a 32 ounce measuring cup
and whisk until well blended.
