Sugar Cookies
1 1/3 cups shortening
1 ½ cups sugar
3 tsp.Vanilla
2 eggs
8 tsp. Milk
4 cups sifted flour
3 tsp. Baking powder
½ tsp. Salt
Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla in a mixer at
medium speed. Beat in eggs. Add milk and dry ingredients
and beat until well mixed Divide dough in half. On a
floured surface roll out one half of dough until 1/4
inch thickness. Use desired cookie cutters to create
shapes. Bake on a slightly greased cookie sheet at 375
degrees for 12-15 minutes or until cookies are lightly
brown around the edges. Cool slightly then transfer to
wire racks. Frost and decorate as desired.
